Top-3 latest innovations in the 2025.04 QRC release of SAP Analytics Cloud

It’s already mid-November and that means that SAP will be rolling out there latest updates for SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for 2025. Let’s take a closer look at the top-3 innovations (in random order) that will be introduced in SAC.

My Metrics

One of the challenges for business leaders, analysts and decision makers is to have one consolidated view on the most critical metrics without having to navigate across multiple dashboards. With the 2025.04 QRC release SAP is introducing ‘My Metrics’ that is designed to simplify how you monitor, analyze and share the most important business metrics.

My Metrics is available as a new module from the menu and consists out of three areas. On the left hand side a list of performance cards are visible that you have created or have been shared with you. When you select a metric a chart instantly visualizes the data and this can be configured at design time. Finally Smart Insights is being used to perform an automated analysis to discover hidden patterns and display important observations.

Seamless Planning

One of the exciting new additions for Seamless Planning is the possibility to add SAP Datasphere fact views as a live version in a planning model. With this new feature you can bring fact data into planning models without replication. Until this release, bringing data into a planning model required using an import job, data upload or a data action. Now you have you actuals directly available without copying data.

In the model details you can find a new entry called ‘External Live Version Data Sources’. From here you can follow the steps to make the live data available to be used in story calculations as well as data actions. If needed you can copy the live version data into a planning version via copy/paste in the table, data actions and version management.

This is another step to fully utilize the potential of Seamless Planning were SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere are working together. For more details please visit this blog: Unlocking the Next Chapter of Seamless Planning in… – SAP Community

Model Size Statistics and Analysis

One of the main priorities for any system owner or administrator in SAP Analytics Cloud is to maintain a high-performing and stable environment. With this release SAP introduces a new pre-build story for model size statistics and analysis that will help you to keep full control over your data foodprint.

Data volumes (in planning models) grow rapidly and this story allows taking proactive steps before reaching certain system limits. Besides a number of key KPIs on overall system level, the story displays the top 30 models (and dimensions) based on total number of records. This includes a breakdown per model for data categories like master data, transactional data, audit data, etc. You can even drill-down to the version level for a data category if applicable. Furthermore the details section of this story provides the possibility to continuously monitor growing trends based on number of import jobs and publishing events per version for a certain time period.
